FAQs - office

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions patients have about our office.

About Our Office

Q: Do I sign up with a specific doctor?

A: We are a group practice and therefore you will be signing up with the group.  You are free to see anyone in the group and are not assigned to one specific provider.  Some of you may choose to see one provider for most visits while others may see many or all of us.

Q: What is your coverage when the office is closed:

A: One of our providers or the CHOC triage line is available whenever the office is closed, including nights and weekends.  We have a call system that will enable you to speak with the on-call medical professional in case of an urgent medical question.

Q: What hospitals are you affiliated with?

A: We have hospital privileges at Long Beach Memorial Miller Children's Hospital and see newborns at there.

Q: What insurances do you take?

A: We accept most PPO insurances.  We also accept HMO patients with the GNP (Greater Newport Physicians) group.

Q: How do you feel about vaccines?

A: We feel that vaccines are one of the best ways to keep your children healthy and strongly believe that they are safe and efficacious.  We follow the vaccine schedule recommended by the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) and have scheduled the well visits to coincide with the vaccine schedule.

We also have a minimum requirement of vaccines for you to be seen at this office. This policy is in place to protect the health of all children in our practice and the community. The requirement includes 3 doses of DTaP, Hib, and prevnar by 9 months of age and 1 dose of MMR & Varivax by 15 months of age.

If you have any questions or reservations about the vaccines or the schedule, we would be happy to discuss them with you.
