Dr. Shaw was born and raised in the beautiful state of Wyoming where she attended the University of Wyoming and earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. From there she attended medical school at the University of Colorado during which time she got married to her long time sweetheart and had two beautiful children.
She stayed home for three years after completion of medical school to care for her young daughter and her son who was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. It was this experience that inspired her to pursue a career in Pediatrics. She went on to complete the residency program at the University of California, Irvine, during which time she trained at Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach, Children's Hospital of Orange County, and University of California, Irvine Medical Center.
Her special interests in medicine include developmental/behavior pediatrics, children with chronic illness, and the well-being of the family, as she believes strongly in a direct relationship between healthy families and healthy children. In her spare time, she enjoys attending church, playing with the family, running, and the great outdoors. Her kind and positive attitude has been a great asset to our practice.
